Chicago toddler falls to her death from 9th-floor balcony

A 3-year-old girl died Tuesday after falling from a 9th-floor balcony, the Chicago Fire Department said.

The tragic incident unfolded in the 500 block of East 33rd Place where the victim plummeted from a balcony at the Lake Meadows Apartments complex in Bronzeville.

Authorities later identified the girl as Rufda Sahle confirming that she was residing in the high-rise building.

    “I looked out, and I saw them bring the little girl from the side of the building,” a neighbor recalled.

    “Blood over her face and eyes were open, so I kind of was thinking maybe she was either in shock or gone.”

    “Mom, she was very upset. They couldn't control her. She was very upset.”
