Florida news, US news.

The Florida parents of a deceased infant were allegedly high on drugs as she layed dead next to them for hours, authorities said.

A family friend made the horrific discovery of the “ice cold” baby when he visited Nicholas and Carisaa Alexander's home at around 5 p.m. on May 31.

The infant's father gave her Narcan on the way to the hospital telling the friend that she might have gotten into his “stash.”

Once at the hospital, a nurse noticed that the 8-month-old girl was “gone for a while.”

During questioning, the visibly impaired Alexanders said that they last saw their daughter alive at around 7 a.m. in her playpen. They woke up at 10 a.m., to find her in a “prone position” on a couch and they couldn't remember who put her there.

Nicholas Alexander admitted to using cocaine and crack in the hours preceding his child's death. Clarissa also “took a hit” of the crack, according to him.

Autopsy results showed that the baby had deadly levels of fentanyl and benzoylecgonine in her system. The Alexanders were subsequently charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child.
