Bronx woman found beaten to death inside bloody apartment

A Bronx woman was found dead with injuries to her face and neck inside her bloody apartment Wednesday.

The body of 38-year-old Lisette Gomez was discovered inside her apartment on Cauldwell Avenue near Westchester Avenue in the Woodstock neighborhood shortly after 12:40 p.m., police said.

  • Gomez was found in her bed with trauma injuries on the face and neck suggesting she was beaten to death. Police deemed her death as “suspicious” and arrested a 33-year-old man for questioning.

    The man, who was not identified by police, is the victim's boyfriend. A homicide investigation is underway.

    No charges have been filed in the case as authorities await the Medical Examiner's Office ruling on the death.
