A Kentucky boy playing basketball died in a tragic accident after a basketball backboard came off the pole and fell on him late Monday.
Eli Hill, 8, was trying to dunk the ball when the backboard fell and crushed him. The Fayette County Coroner's Office said that he suffered blunt force trauma to the chest.

“Eli was only eight. But in his eight years, he has shined his light so bright,” Eli's grieving mother said.
“We're just so proud of him. We are just so proud of the legacy he's left behind.”
The boy's parents said that his organs were donated including his “heart of gold.”
