Louisiana boy, 6, accidentally shot and killed by brother while playing with gun

A Louisiana boy died Wednesday night after he was accidentally struck while playing with his brother with a loaded gun, Lafourche Parish authorities said.

The tragic incident occurred in a Raceland home in the 2000 block of La. 182 where the 6-year-old brothers were staying with their grandparents.

    The child's grandfather called the police at around 7:45 p.m. to report that Michel had been shot. First responders administered CPR but the boy couldn't be saved.

    “They [the grandfather] found it [the gun] in the father's bedroom, and they were unaware that any firearms were in the residence,” Sheriff's spokesman Brennan Matherne said adding that the entire family resided in that home.
