A migrant was found in the new Brooklyn humanitarian shelter Tuesday afternoon suffering self-inflicted stab wounds, police said.
The 26-year-old man cut his right forearm with a shaving razor inside a bathroom of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal at around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
He was rushed to Lutheran hospital in stable condition, authorities said.
The Cruise Terminal began operating in late January and had been heavily criticized by single adult male residents who protested the lack of privacy inside the packed mega-shelter that houses more than 1,000 men.
The city's officials have decided to relocate single men to the new facility in an attempt to give space to families with children at Manhattan's Watson Hotel which offers better services.
