The devastating parents of a one-year-old Milwaukee boy are seeking justice after a family friend stole their car with their baby inside and slammed it into another vehicle, killing him.
31-year-old Antwineesha Burse was charged with intentionally operating a vehicle without a license while intending to caise death in connection to the fatal collision that claimed Zarion Robinson's life Friday.
The toddler's mom said that Burse, a “family friend” was in the backseat of her vehicle with Zarion when the mother stepped out for a few moments.
“Me and my cousin went inside to drop my cousin's cat off. She [Burse] took it upon herself to hop in the driver's seat and pull off with my child in the car,” the mom said.
“I called her and said I don't care about the car, I just want my baby back. I knew her well enough to think she wouldn't do something like that.”
Police said that Burse sped off and traveled south on a northbound lane before slamming into green Dodge Caravan at around 11:30 p.m.
Zarion, who was not strapped into his car seat, was killed in the crash. Burse sustained non-life threatening injuries.
“I want to see justice, I do,” Zarion's father said. “I want to see justice. He didn't deserve it, he had a lot of life ahead of him.”
“He was always playful. He always had a smile, always laughing just doing normal stuff, just growing up everday, so for this to happen is just tragic.”
