New Jersey politician killed on Christmas night after argument with wife

A New Jersey political figure is dead after an argument with his wife turned bloody on Christmas night, authorities said.

David “Wiggy” Wigglesworth, 57, was shot once by his wife Marylue Wigglesworth who allegedly admitted to the murder, according to an arrest affidavit.

The “unimaginable” news of Wigglesworth’s death left the Atlantic City community in shock with many describing the couple as “great people.”

    The victim had previously run for the Republican Township Committee leadership and was a volunteer at The Boys& Girls Club of Atlantic City.

    “Our hearts are heavy with the loss of David Wigglesworth,” the Township of Hamilton Republicans posted on Facebook.

    “He was a dedicated member of the party and worked tirelessly to support many Republican campaigns over the years, including his own.”
