A 4-year-old Wisconsin girl died mid-December after she was brutally beaten by three caregivers who made her stand with her arms up while they assaulted her.
Winston Chambers, 29, his mother Corinne Beechtree, 56, and Princess Arredondo, 29, were arrested over the death of Kaliyah King.
King suffered a traumatic brain wound and other injuries before her death at the Children’s Wisconsin hospital on Dec. 16.
Chambers gave a false identification at the hospital telling police that he was “going through the process of legally changing his name.
He then claimed that King fell off a bed the previous day and that she slipped and fell on ice hours later; Chambers alleged that a reckless driver struck her.
The two female suspects also lied to investigators before text messages on their phones revealed that Chambers beat King with a belt for around 30 minutes after she kicked him in the face.
Another child living at the home told detectives that “Winston did it” and that he used a belt and broom and his hands to beat the victim “until he is sweaty.”
Chambers faces charges of reckless homicide in addition to abuse and negligence that the two other suspects were also charged with.
