Authorities in New Orleans said that a 75-year-old man was beaten to death in his hotel room late Thursday while visiting from Missouri.
Police arrived at the Avenue Plaza Hotel at around 11 p.m. where they found the unresponsive victim and the suspect hiding in the bathroom.
29-year-old Martin Furtado was reportedly not staying in the room and was not a guest of the hotel.

He was busted at the scene on second-degree murder charges.
The unidentified victim succumbed to severe head trauma he suffered. Detectives believe that he was beaten with fists only.
A motive is being determined by the New Orleans Police Department’s homicide unit.
