The four victims of a horrific car accident in Buffalo were likely trying a TikTok challenge when their speeding stolen vehicle crashed Monday morning.
Police said that the stolen Kia was carrying six teens, aged between 14 and 17, when the crash occurred and the five passengers got ejected. Four of them were fatally hurt.
The driver of the car was treated at a hospital and discharged while the second survivor remains hospitalized in intensive care.
Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said that the six juveniles had tried a TikTok challenge encouraging youngsters to break into Kia and Hyundai cars using phone chargers.
The “Kia challenge” led to a considerable rise in thefts of Kia and Hyundai vehicles since it was first suggested last summer.
Police said that the Kia involved in Monday’s crash was reported stolen hours before the incident.
