2 Mississippi girls killed in deadly crash after car flipped into thick brush

Two teen girls died in a horrific crash early Sunday when their car flipped into heavy woods on their way home from a homecoming party.

Baleigh Bowlin and Chloe Taylor did not survive the accident and one of their relatives discovered the overturned car in thick woods along the side of a road, Jackson County authorities said.

The 16-year-olds were last seen alive at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday at a Waffle House with their classmates from East Central High School.

  • “They were best friends. Glued to the hip,” Chloe Taylor’s mom said.

    “They loved each other and were always there for one another Baleigh and Chloe were the definitions of high-quality friends. They both are flying and will always be in our hearts.”

    The Principal at East Central High, Jim Hughey, described the victims as “outstanding students.”

    “Our community is going to be mourning the loss of them for a while.”
