Two Louisiana teens are behind bars after they confessed to plotting to kill the “loving mom” of one of them.
33-year-old Markeshia Stone was shot multiple times and killed at around 11 p.m. Wednesday at her Highland Club apartment.
Police said that 16-year-old Dwayne Barfield who fatally shot Stone was arrested nearby and told detectives that it was the victim’s daughter who paid him “hundreds of dollars” to carry out the murder.
Upon her arrest, 16-year-old Jermyne Lewis also admitted to the deadly plot adding that it came after an argument about where she should live.
“A loving mom, did everything she could to take care of her kids,” Stone’s father Marvin Palmer said of his late daughter.
“She didn’t deserve that. I just can’t believe it, man. I’m not hating my granddaughter, but at this time I don’t want to see her…if I do get a chance to talk to her, I just want to ask why.”
The grieving father said that Stone had three younger sons and that he had told two of them what their sister did.
“I told her little brothers don’t be mad at their sister,” he added.
