Police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana are investigating the fatal shooting of a Louisiana State University senior who was gunned down inside her car early Friday morning.
No suspects had been named in connection with the murder of Allison Rice, 21, who was shot at least five times and killed inside her vehicle near a set of railroad tracks on Government Street at around 2:20 a.m.
“This senseless violence is completely unacceptable and Baton Rouge Police officers are thoroughly investigating to bring the perpetrator to justice,” Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome said.
Detectives said that Rice was out with her friends prior to the shooting.
The Geismar, Louisiana native had recently left her bartender job at The Shed BBQ where she was described as a “bubbly” person.
“The loss of a child, you can never get over that. The holidays are coming up. It’s going to be sad. It’s going to be really sad,” the victim’s aunt said.
