Ohio teen purposely leaves 1-year-old son to die in hot car

A teen father had admitted to purposely leaving his baby son to die in a hot car as temperatures hit 87 degrees Thursday.

New Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of a deceased one-year-old boy brought to a hospital by his father at around 2 p.m.

  • After providing inconsistent information surrounding the tragic death, 19-year-old Landon Parrot admitted that he purposely left his son unattended in the car for around five hours.

    “This was not a matter of forgetting the child but was a deliberate act so as the child would not be a disturbance while in the house,” Police said.

    Parrot was subsequently arrested and charged with murder, endangering children, and involuntary manslaughter.
