A New Jersey mom was caught in heart-breaking footage collapsing to the ground outside her home upon learning of her 2-year-old daughter’s death in a hot car on Tuesday.
The child was left in the family’s car for several hours as temperatures exceeded the 90s in Franklin Township. She was found unresponsive in her car seat in the gray Honda Civic at around 2:20 p.m.
A neighbor reported hearing the horrified mom “screaming in pain and anguish” as a cop tried to console her. She was taken to a hospital in an ambulance.
Witnesses said that the toddler’s parents were not aware that she was forgotten in a hot car until police showed up at their door.
“They were just screaming in pain and anguish. I heard the dad screaming uncontrollably and then I heard the mom start wailing, really sobbing,” neighbor Treana Huntley said.
“It was gut-wrenching…Just hearing that pain from another mother. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody.”
