Kansas toddler found dead in hot car after getting trapped inside it as temperatures reached 92F

Authorities in Scranton, Kansas are investigating a tragic incident after a 2-year-old child was found unresponsive inside a hot car while temperatures reached 92F on Sunday.

Osage County Sheriff’s deputies were at the scene at around 3:40 p.m. and rushed the victim to Topeka’s Stormont Vail Health where they passed away.

    The child’s identity was not released pending next-of-kin notification.

    An autopsy is scheduled in order to determine an official cause of death although all indications pointed out to a heat-related fatality, according to investigators.
