7 people including 5 children killed in fiery crash when woman drove van on wrong-way along I-90

A fiery wrong-way crash near Hampshire, Illinois left seven people dead including five children Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to the Illinois State Police, a woman driving a van collided head-on with another vehicle at around 2:11 a.m. on interstate 90 westbound lanes near milepost 33.5 in McHenry County.

    There were reports of an injured person that was airlifted to an area hospital with severe wounds. Identities of the victims were not immediately released.

    Authorities closed westbound lanes off near milepost 33 temporarily and diverted the traffic into Anthony Road.
