Remains of missing ex-Detroit officer found in park as neighbor caught with victim’s car, gun

As authorities investigated the sudden disappearance of an ex-Detroit police officer, his remains were located at Stoepel Park on Thursday, not very far from where he lived.

The decomposed body is believed to be Stephen Hodo’s, although an official identification is pending.

    A 29-year-old neighbor of the victim was arrested last week after he was found driving Hodo’s car and using his gun to threaten and shoot another man.

    Authorities are now working to determine a motive for the killing; the suspect’s identity was not immediately revealed as the investigation proceeds.
