The family of a Buffalo teen whose remains were discovered in a shallow grave last month said that they know who was behind both her murder and that of her father.
18-year-old Jalia Marrero went missing around May 9 or 10 according to Police, a few days after her 39-year-old father, Luis Marrero was shot to death inside an apartment.
But before she vanished, Jalia called 911 to report witnessing the killing of her father and gave investigators a statement. Since then, relatives lost touch with her.
“That’s when we started to get worried,” a cousin said.
On June 6, homicide detectives located Marrero’s remains in a shallow grave in a wooded area.
The teen’s family said that it appeared Jalia had been dead for “quite some time” before the grisly finding.
