A missing Pennsylvania boy had been found dead in a campground pool that was just cleared hours earlier, police said.
The lifeless body of Pau Khai was discovered at around 2 a.m. Thursday, nearly eight hours after he vanished while attending a three-day junior activity that was organized by the Westminster Presbyterian Church at the York County campground.
The 12-year-old boy swam with a group of children in the pool between 3 and 6 p.m. and then chaperons cleared the pool and went to the following activity.
After Khai went missing, the organizers searched the pool and found nothing; several attendees reported seeing the teen walking down a gravel trail at around 7 p.m.
Investigators are now awaiting autopsy results to determine the circumstances surrounding Khai’s death.
