Kentucky authorities said that a hostage situation in Allen ended with the suspect’s arrest and the deaths of two police officers on Thursday.
The armed suspect barricaded himself with his wife and daughter as the officers tried to serve a domestic violence warrant before the situation escalated to a deadly shootout.
Authorities said that two officers were killed and five others wounded; the gunman was later identified as Lance Storz.
Storz was arrested on murder and murder of a police officer charges. His wife and daughter were successfully rescued.
“Tonight I ask the commonwealth to join Britainy and I holding Floyd County in prayer, especially the family and loved ones of those who have responded to a barricade situation involving a shooting,” Gov. Andy Beshear said.
