Washington news, US news.

In this first in-person late-night show since he became President, Joe Biden addressed key issues with left-leaning comedian and host Jimmy Kimmel Wednesday including gun control and Republican Party.

The roughly 20-minute interview also touched on the controversy of abortion rights and the leaked Supreme Court draft suggestion to overturn Roe V. Wade Biden described as “ridiculous.”

“I don’t think the country will stand for it,” the President said of the leaked decision. “It’s clear that if in fact the decision comes down the way it does and these states impose the limitations they’re talking about, it’s gonna cause a mini-revolution and they’re going to vote a lot of these folks out of office.”

The President also took shots at his predecessor Donald Trump and the “hard right” GOP Party he created, blaming it for voting against “common sense” gun control legislation.

“This is not your father’s Republican party,” Biden told Kimmel. “This is a MAGA party, a very different Republican Party and you find people who are worried, I believe, that if they vote for the rational gun policy, they’re going to lose in a hard-right Republican primary.”
