Oklahoma news, US news.

An Oklahoma teen is miraculously alive after a horse kicked him right into the chest last week, sending him into cardiac arrest.

Dalton Bruton, 16, was working on his family’s farm that has over 50 horses, preparing the animal for a veterinary check when one went uncontrollable.

“We were just kind of trying to corner and, you know, get her calmed down a little bit,” the victim told a local reporter. “And I got whacked!”

“I thought she just knocked the breath out of me. I was unaware of any other issues going on internally.”

“After initial treatment in Liberal, and evaluation of the risks and surgical needs, Dalton was flown early Friday morning to Wichita and taken directly to surgery, where they removed 300 mL of fluid from around his heart and placed chest tubes [in],” the post reads.

The teen’s mother said that she had been “told several times” that she was going to “lose him.”

“We were not expecting a happy ending,” she said of Bruton’s return to home.
