A 23-year-old New York City man died in a tragic jet ski accident off lower Manhattan late Saturday while a 22-year-old female passenger swam to safety, authorities said.
The pair had started the doomed jet ski ride from Hoboken, New Jersey before they fell off at 7:20 p.m. the man was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed on the Hudson River when the jet ski flipped.

Police said that the surviving victim swim to the financial ferry terminal and climbed a ladder. She remains hospitalized.
The body of the deceased victim was recovered nearly 150 yards south of the ferry terminal and he was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m., police and firefighters said.
