Wisconsin man unintentionally shoots friend dead with AR-15 rifle

A Wisconsin man is dead after his friend unintentionally fired an AR-15 while pointing it at him last Sunday, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to a home in the 10000 block of Blue Mountain Avenue, in Blue Mounds where 19-year-old Marshall “Levy” Iverson was fatally shot.

Sheriff Kalvin Barrett said that among the five other people that were at the home, 20-year-old Isaiah Miller admitted to accidentally shooting Iverson.

  • Miller was taken to a hospital for blood tests then to the Dane County Jail where he was booked on negligent homicide, handling of a dangerous weapon, and homicide by intoxicated use of a firearm as tentative charges.

    Barrett added that the fatal shooting would have never happened “with appropriate education and knowledge when handling firearms.”

    Shelly, Iverson’s grieving mom, said in a statement on a fundraising page for funeral costs that she was “completely devastated.”

    “I love you more than anything Levi and don’t know I’m gonna go on without you.”
