Remains of two people found in a charred car in the Bronx earlier this week were identified as a beloved young man and his childhood friend, authorities said.
The burning car of 22-year-old Jesse Parilla and his friend Nikki Hunag was located on Shore Road near Pelham Split Rock Golf Course at around 4:15 a.m. Monday.
Parilla’s grieving mom was told that her only son was shot to the head and chest while his passenger was executed with a shot to the head before his Honda Accord was set ablaze.
“They must have kidnapped him. I believe they still have his phone,” the distraught mom told reporters.
“They brought him there and set it on fire to make it look like an accident. I have no idea who would do this. He was my only son.”
Parilla, who worked for Uber Eats and was about to start a new job at Bellevue Hospital, loved basketball and dreamed of “shooting hoops” for the NBA, the mom said.
About Huang, the woman said that “she needed a ride and she called him” before they ended up killed.
“He was home all that day and he was supposed to meet me. He didn’t show and I called and called but he didn’t pick up…they shot him twice. They assassinated him.”
