New York City news, New York news.

A New York City man is accused of fatally shooting the mother of a police officer when he knocked on her door Wednesday afternoon.

41-year-old Giuseppe Canzani then stole Anna Torres’ car and drove to the 106th Precinct stationhouse where he took out his loaded .45-caliber handgun and put it on the sidewalk.

Officers arrested him without incident and charged him with murder. Canzani had started to confess before an attorney joined him at the precinct, NYPD Deputy Chief Jerry O’Sullivan said.
