Straight-A student & track athlete gunned down at after-prom party

A 17-year-old Texas high school student and track star was shot dead outside an after-prom party early Sunday morning and authorities said that have yet to make an arrest in the case.

Rashard Guinyard was a straight-A student-athlete at Crowley High School, planned to attend Abilene Christian University on an athletic scholarship, and worked half-time at a local Walmart before his life was cut short in the deadly shooting.

  • “Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim deceased on the scene. The victim had sustained at least one gunshot wound,” Fort Worth Police said in a statement.

    “Detectives learned there was a large gathering at the location and unknown suspect(s) began firing weapons striking the victim as he and others attempted to flee the area on foot.”

    “There are no suspects in custody at this time and homicide detectives have been notified,” the statement added on Wednesday.
