A Mississippi State worker was mauled to death by a pack of dogs while investigating a recent attack involving the same animals.

Summer Beard, 58, was savagely attacked by several dogs as she tried to contact their owner, identified as 29-year-old Brandy Dowdy, at a rural Mississippi residence.

“Summer was known to her coworkers as an exceptional person,” said Ryan Easterling the Director of the ADPH’s Health Media and Communications Division.
