Boy, 13, stabs his mom to death after physically assaulting her: Tucson Police

A Tucson, Arizona boy was arrested blocks away from his family home where he had left his mother to die after stabbing her multiple times.

The 13-year-old boy was arrested on Jan. 11 at about 9 p.m. after a neighbor called police to report a stabbed woman inside a residence on the 8200 block of South Via Del Forjador.

  • The victim, 60-year-old Mary Ainuu, was physically assaulted and stabbed to death at the hands of her teen son. She was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

    Detectives with the Department’s Domestic Violence Unit and Homicide Unit assumed the pair were arguing before things escalated.

    The teen has since been charged with first-degree murder/domestic violence. It remains unclear whether he’ll be charged as an adult.
