NYPD officer miraculously survives after being shot to head while resting in car between shifts

An NYPD officer is expected to survive a near-fatal shooting after he was ambushed between shifts as he rested in the car on New Year’s Day.

The lucky officer was shot to the head at around 6:15 a.m. Saturday when someone fired a shot through the car window. He had just finished a full shift in Central Park with his next shift set to start at 7:30 a.m.

  • “Doctors say the bullet was ‘miraculously deflected’, either by the car window or the officer’s skull and missed vital structures by millimeters,” reports said.

    The cop sustained a fractured skull and had bullet fragments removed from his injury. He is expected to recover.

    Authorities are offering a reward of $10,000 to anyone with information regarding the incident.
