Tennessee news, US news.

A Tennessee father won’t get to spend Christmas with his wife and 1-month-old daughter after he was fatally struck, trying to help a driver in trouble on the side of a highway.

22-year-old Tristan Lemka was on his way to the church where he worked as a fill-in pastor when he got hit by a car on Highway I-60.

Lemka noticed that the driver of the other car was trapped in the wreck so he stepped out of the car, and reached to the man trying to help.

“I hate that he lost his life for it, but knowing that he saved another one just gives you some comfort,” Lemka’s widow said. “There’s always going to be a part of me that wants him back.”

She added, while holding her infant, that Lemka will be spending this Christmas in Heaven.

“But just to think he is up there rejoicing and walking streets of gold. He’s about to have the best Christmas up there. He was a good one.”
