A Louisiana family is mourning the loss of three young siblings following a tragic head-on crash last Friday night that also killed an intoxicated driver who plowed his truck into them.
Lindy, Christopher, and Kamryn Simmons, respectively 20, 17, and 15, succumbed to the injuries they had sustained after they crashed head-on with 54-year-old John Lundy who was driving a pickup truck the wrong way on Interstate 49.
The siblings’ mom and Christopher’s girlfriend, Marissa, were also in the family’s doomed SUV but survived the crash.
“A selfish, scum of earth human decided to get behind the wheel intoxicated. This person was driving north in the southbound lane on the interstate and plowed head-on into my family’s car,” the victim’s sister Katie said on a GoFundMe page.
“The absolute hardest part of this entire experience, next to losing my siblings, is knowing that my mom will be informed of this whenever she awakens.”
“It is absolutely gut-wrenching for me to share this and I am passionately sharing in hopes of raising awareness of how devastating getting behind the wheel can be.”
“We are crushed. We are empty. We are devastated. We are in disbelief. We are hurting. We don’t know how we will ever find joy in anything again.”
