Drone crashes on California jail yard while carrying bundles of cellphones

Kern Valley State Prison officials said that on August 10, a drone carrying bundles of cellphones fell to the grounds inside the facility.

The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 drone was attached to two packages with two cellphones inside each package. In addition to the phones, there were chargers and headphones.

    Kern Valley State Prison houses 4,600 male inmates, some deemed most problematic of the inmate population in California, and is considered a Level IV maximum-security prison.

    On Friday, a 37-year-old inmate at the facility was found dead inside a cell he shared with a murder convict.
