Michigan student arrested after making threats against school because he was ‘frustrated’ with classmate

A Michigan middle school student is facing criminal charges after allegedly making threats against his school last week.

The L’Anse Creuse Middle School student was arrested Wednesday and charged with making a threat of terrorism against the Harrison Township school.

  • “The student admitted to making statements to multiple students that he wanted to shoot the school because of frustration with another student,” Sgt. Renee Yax said.

    Yax added that the teen, his parents, and school officials were questioned as part of the investigation.

    The incident comes in the aftermath of the Nov. 30 mass shooting at Oxford High School. Since the tragedy, police across southeast Michigan had responded to several threats at schools.
