Louisiana authorities notify NYPD after pulling over fugitive who killed own father, left corpse in pile of trash

NYPD said Friday that a Brooklyn man was brought back from Louisiana to face charges of killing his own father and leaving his corpse to decompose in a pile of trash.

Joseph Adams, 26, was traveling from New Orleans when Louisiana authorities pulled him over in Gretna and identified him as a wanted fugitive.

  • Police alleged that Adams stabbed his 49-year-old father Christopher Adams 46 times, wrapped his body in a comforter, and left him to rot inside a plastic bag on Van Sinderen Avenue.

    The decomposed body was discovered on October 26 in a pile of trash at a pickup point police said.

    Joseph Adams now faces a slew of charges including murder, concealment of a human corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and criminal possession of a weapon.
