Matthews news, Indiana news.

An Indiana grandmother had passed away after an aggressive dog attack that occurred in her daughter's home Monday.

Kathleen Bartram had just fallen from her chair startling her young granddaughter who started crying.

That’s when the family’s dog showed up “charging” at the incapacitated woman. Her children rushed to the rescue but not before she began bleeding from both sides of her neck.

“Sometimes dogs reserve protective aggression for individuals they consider particularly vulnerable,” the ASPCA said.

“The protective dog starts to treat everyone outside the family, including friends and relatives as threats.”
