Intruder gets mauled to death by homeowner’s dogs: GBI

A 21-year-old man was found dead on the property of a Newnan resident with an autopsy ruling he died following a mauling incident on Sept. 24.

Police responded to the scene at around 10:30 a.m. after the homeowner called to report finding a complete stranger’s body lying lifeless on his porch.

The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation launched a probe into the fatal incident that later confirmed the decedent was an intruder.

    The GBI did not rule the death as a homicide and won’t file criminal charges against the homeowner.

    However, the fate of the two involved dogs has yet to be decided as they remain in the custody of Coweta County Animal Services.
