New York City news, New York news.

New York Police have arrested the father of a 19-month-old boy who had been mauled to death Tuesday evening by a guard dog.

Vernon Foster, 30, left sons Ryan, Tale, and Jayden at their grandparents’ home alone with a Rottweiler and headed to work.

Mom Susan Hyre said that the dog was “vicious” and “not meant to be around children.”

Hyre said that she did not know about her children being left unsupervised with a violent dog.

The distraught mom added that her older son Jayden had been bitten by the same dog in 2019.

“My child literally has bite marks from that dog and the marks are still there. He was bit on the leg by the same dog.”

Foster was charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and endangering the welfare of a child.
