A Border Patrol Agent found two young girls wandering alone near the US-Mexico border in Yuma while patrolling the area.
The sisters, aged 4 and 6, were in a marsh area near the Colorado River all by themselves.
“A Yuma Sector agent, concerned about their safety, quickly approached the young girls, and escorted them to safer terrain,” authorities said in a statement.

Authorities revealed that the girls had a note with their aunt’s contact with them, which would help find their family.
“The girls were taken into custody and attempts will be made to reunite them with family,” the statement added.
