Passerby discovers heavily-decomposed body wrapped in trash bag at Brooklyn sanitation pickup point

The New York Police Department is investigating a gruesome finding of a human body that was left on the street near a pile of garbage Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 12:35 p.m. a passerby spotted the heavily decomposed remains at Van Sinderen Avenue between Herkimer Street and Atlantic Avenue in Cypress Hills.

    They were not able to get much information about the deceased given the advanced state of decomposition. The medical examiner is set to conduct an autopsy.

    The remains were left outside an abandoned lot with a pile of garbage at a sanitation pickup point, police said.
