LaPorte County Deputies thank community’s help after arrest of dad accused of toddler son's murder

A Union Township man, who broke away from a home where his toddler son layed dead Monday, was arrested thanks to the community’s awareness.

4-year-old Judah Morgan was declared dead at around 2:45 a.m. Monday in a residence in the 3100 East block of County Road 875 South.

Two deputies forced entry to the home after receiving reports about an unconscious child and getting no response upon arriving.

  • “Since then, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division have tirelessly investigated the circumstances surrounding the death of Judah,” LaPorte County Sheriff’s Capt. Derek Allen said.

    Authorities released photos of a red2004 Ford Freestar minivan belonging to the tot’s dad, Alan D. Morgan, and within hours he was busted.

    A Tuesday autopsy revealed Judah was the victim of a homicide. His 28-year-old father is now facing murder, and neglect of dependent charges.
