A Fort Hood soldier was found dead Saturday a few hours after another went missing from the same base.
Military officials are investigating both incidents that occurred on the same weekend at the Texas Army Base that made headlines over the dismemberment murder of Spc. Vanessa Gullien a year and a half ago.
The latest fatality reported at Fort Hood this weekend is that of a male soldier who served in the Army’s First Cavalry Division, officials said. His lifeless body was found behind barracks.
Authorities gave no further details surrounding the soldier’s death but it occurred one day after Pfc. Jennifer Sewell went missing from the base.
Her family announced Sunday that she was located safe but provided no information regarding the brief disappearance’s circumstances.
