Michigan mom who wouldn’t let anyone hurt toddler accused of stabbing child to death, hiding body in garbage bag

Michigan authorities have arrested the mom of the 3-year-old girl found stabbed to death inside a garbage bag left outside an Oscoda Township home Friday.

22-year-old Justine Johnson stands accused of stabbing her daughter Sutton Mosser to death. She reportedly told detectives that she didn’t want to discuss the crime.

It was Johnson’s brother who called Police after finding a garbage bag with a human foot protruding from it outside the home Johnson shared with their mother.

  • The brother informed police that he had asked Johnson about her toddler a day earlier and she told him to mind his business.

    “That baby loved me more than anything,” Sutton’s grandmother said of the victim who was “full of life and very smart.”

    “Justine loved Sutton with all her heart. She’d never let anybody hurt that baby. I want a fair investigation for my child. I want my granddaughter to have the proper justice.”

    Johnson was arrested walking along railroad tracks about four hours following the grim discovery. She was charged with murder and child abuse and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
