Toddler’s remains found in garbage bag outside Lake Huron home

Oscoda Township Police said Friday that a suspect has been arrested after the remains of a 3-year-old tot were found stuffed in a garbage bag outside a residence.

Officers were first alerted to the crime Friday morning when a tipster spotted a human foot sticking out of the suspicious bag outside the Cedar Lake Road home.

  • Detectives launched a homicide investigation and said that a suspect, who resides frequently at the home along with the toddler, was in custody.

    A preliminary investigation confirmed the toddler’s death was a murder and that there was evidence of foul play.

    The victim and suspect identities and relationship remained undisclosed as of Saturday morning.
