Jersey City news, New Jersey news.

A New Jersey infant has escaped death thanks to an alert officer who showed up at the right moment and place to catch him after a fall from the second-floor balcony of a building Saturday.

Jersey City Police Officer Eduardo Matute responded with several other colleagues to reports of a man threatening to drop a baby from a balcony.

After a lengthy stand-off, the man ended up dropping the one-month-old baby with Matute catching the child and securing their safety.
