South Carolina news, US news.

Police in South Carolina believes that Alex Murdaugh’s recent shooting was his own plot to grant his surviving son a life insurance payout that is worth $10 million.

The prominent attorney had allegedly hired Curtis Edward Smith, 61, to shoot him in the head and provided him with the firearm.

On Sept. 4, Murdaugh was airlifted to a hospital after sustaining a superficial wound to the head. He admitted days later that he planned to be killed “for the purpose of his son collecting a life insurance policy valued at approximately ten million dollars.”
