Oklahoma authorities positively identified the remains of a missing teen that vanished three years ago.

19-year-old Margarita “Maggie” Sandoval suddenly stopped calling her mom in 2018. Until last May, no one had an idea regarding her whereabouts.

The decomposed body was found “wrapped in numerous layers of a thick plastic, possibly 20-30-layers” inside a large black box.

  • The remains were located in a basement near the campus of the University of Oklahoma. The owner of the home told detectives that he was not aware of the remains.

But he admitted that a friend of his, who was also a relative of Sandoval, would come and store stuff in the basement.

Authorities said that they have since arrested the relative and charged them with weapon offenses pending further charges.

The motive appears to be financial as the victim was a beneficiary of social security payments.
