Texas authorities have arrested a Dallas firefighter Friday after learning he faked his Covid infection to get time off from duty.

William Carter, 38, initially told his deputy chief that his wife tested positive for the virus on March 24 and requested a paid leave.

A week later, he returned to announce that his daughter’s diagnosis was also positive and subsequently received another paid week off.
